Just like the rest of the world amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, most of us are practicing social distancing and are confined at home.
In those times of uncertainty, it is important to remember to take a deep breath and minimise stress and anxiety. It is now more than ever important to take care of our mental health as that promotes good physical health.
To that end, we have compiled a list of things that we can all do at home right now to take care of ourselves.
Keep Moving (Even if it is around the house)
As you will not be able to leave the house for the gym or other outdoor activities, even little movements count.
A light cardio workout at home such as jumping jacks in front of the TV or running up and down the staircase will help expel toxins from your body. The heat that you generate while exercising can kill pathogens, while at the same time energize your cells and metabolism for improved health.
You can also do some stretches just after waking up to get your blood flow going.

A good self care routine can be a source of joy, relaxation and a mood-boosting tool.

One of our favorite smoothies for this period is the Vitamin C Booster Smoothie. All you have to do is mix the following in a blender:
- 1/2 orange peeled and de-segmented
- 2 regular carrots washed and peeled and chopped,
- A knob of ginger
- 1 cup of water
- 1 apple cored and chopped
